Buggy … support slow in coming … support extremely confusing

I purchased an earlier version of this product and used it to begin journalling on the computer as opposed to the written word. I scanned and downloaded a few keepsake documents and was pleased that I now had an electronic backup / version.

When the program updated to the current version, I lost all of my old entries, including those precious keepsake documents. I tried recovering from Time Machine and couldn’t. I contacted Support and was given very confusing instructions on what to copy, where to look in the file structure of my computer for the Memories database (which wasn’t in either location I was told it would be). And then a lot of “try this” … all to no avail so I removed the app and didn’t do anything for a while.

So yesterday, I went into Time Machine, found Memories in the backup and copied it to a CD. I then reinstalled the app on my computer. When I ran the program, after a few moments EVERYTHING was restored. That was a complete and very pleasant surprise. I have since copied those keepsake documents into another file and archived them.

Bottom line … very hesitant to endorse this app. Not sure I will continue to use it. If you are going to use this product, backup your stuff frequently to a file in another application, particularly if the stuff is very important or sentimental to you.
